Photography Club of Amherst College

The purpose of the club is to provide a friendly and welcoming space for students with any and all degrees of experience and expertise in photography to come together for companionship and for collaboration, learning and creative exploration throughout a wide range of the myriad facets of the world of photography. The goals of the club are (1) to celebrate and enhance the members’ mutual interest in photography by gathering once every two or three weeks for discussions, sharing of techniques and photos, occasional more intensive workshops or demonstrations on specific topics, and occasional guest speakers, and (2) to encourage members who wish to participate to enter their photos in a photography show sponsored by the club near the end of each semester (to be displayed at Fayerweather or another appropriate campus venue as will be determined and arranged in the preparation for each semester’s show).
