In their own words

The Amherst College Film Society (ACFS) provides a space for film discussion and engagement on campus for Amherst students and beyond. ACFS facilitates weekly film screenings and discussions, and invites academics and film industry members to speak. ACFS is also a creative community, where budding filmmakers can create and receive constructive criticism for their work, collaborate, or simply become inspired by the work of other students. ACFS is a space where those interested in film at any level can discuss and enjoy films and the art of filmmaking, regardless of major. ACFS is particularly conscious of deconstructing the film canon and presenting works and speakers from historically underrepresented communities. We screen films from all time periods, from all around the world.
