Healing Hearts with Harmony

The purpose of Healing Hearts with Harmony shall be to organize opportunities for Amherst College students to connect with the elderly community of Amherst through the vibrant environment created by music. Healing Hearts members and non-members are invited to make collective visits to local senior centers (including but not limited to The Arbors at Amherst Assisted Living and Memory Care) of Amherst and provide company, live music performances, and an open ear. Music is known to be a method of communication across generations, and the club’s mission is to create a safe and harmonious space for both students and the community to enjoy the presence of others. Friendship is a gift that allows for blooming relationships with one another, which is something that the club hopes to be able to provide for both the senior residents and our members since the Fall of 2021.
