In their own words
The Remedy Project (TRP) is a national network of student volunteers and justice system-impacted people fighting to end the human rights crisis that is the United States’ prison system, currently in the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Using strategy and material developed by our formerly incarcerated members, student volunteers at high schools and universities across the country use a two-pronged strategy towards our mission: writing administrative remedies—the only avenue for incarcerated people to report mistreatment while held in prison—and organizing campaigns around the stories of our incarcerated members. Through direct advocacy and organizing, we take advantage of the underused, hindered, and suppressed power of the administrative remedy to force much-needed accountability, build inside-outside solidarity, and fight for an end to cycles of violence and harm.
