In their own words
Introduction
We are excited to introduce a new club on campus, which is designed to support and empower students of color who are interested in business and finance. This initiative will provide a platform for meaningful discussions and networking opportunities with accomplished alumni in the finance sector.
Purpose of the Group
This established group serves as a dedicated space for students of color to explore business and finance-related topics. Our goal is to foster a supportive community where students can share insights, learn from one another, and build confidence in their professional aspirations. Members will gain valuable knowledge and exposure to various industries through open discussions, workshops, and collaborative projects.
Guest Speaker Events
A key component of this initiative is coordinating guest speaker events featuring Amherst alumni of color who have succeeded in the workforce. These events will give students direct access to professionals who can offer guidance, share their career journeys, and provide insights. Through these engagements, students will have the opportunity to network, seek mentorship, and gain practical advice on navigating careers in finance.
Next Steps
We encourage students interested in business to participate in this initiative and take advantage of the valuable resources and connections it offers. We will soon share further details regarding meeting schedules and upcoming speaker events.
